AI Disclosure
Last updated: April 20, 2026
ReportLoom uses artificial intelligence to generate competitive intelligence reports and related business analysis documents. This page explains how our AI works, what data it uses, what it cannot do, and your responsibility when using our reports.
1. Reports Are AI-Generated
All reports produced by ReportLoom are generated entirely by artificial intelligence. No human analyst writes, edits, reviews, or verifies the content of individual reports before delivery. The AI produces the report based on structured prompts, publicly available information, and the company profile you provide.
While we invest significant effort in engineering our AI pipeline to produce useful, well-structured output, AI-generated content is inherently imperfect and should be treated accordingly.
2. Data Sources
Our AI draws on publicly available information during report generation. This may include:
- Company websites and publicly accessible web pages
- Public review platforms (e.g., G2, Capterra, Trustpilot)
- Press releases, news articles, and media coverage
- Public regulatory filings and government databases
- Job postings and public career pages
- Social media profiles and public posts
- Industry publications and publicly available research
Reports do not use proprietary databases, non-public financial data, private communications, or information obtained through hacking, scraping behind authentication walls, or other unauthorized means.
3. Known Limitations
AI-generated reports have inherent limitations that you should understand before relying on them:
- Hallucinations: AI models can generate plausible-sounding statements that are factually incorrect. This includes inventing statistics, misattributing quotes, fabricating company details, or producing claims that have no basis in any source. We cannot guarantee that every statement in a report is accurate.
- Outdated information: Reports reflect information available at the time of generation. Market conditions, company operations, pricing, personnel, and competitive dynamics change constantly. A report may be partially outdated by the time you read it.
- Incomplete coverage: The AI may miss relevant information that exists publicly but was not found or accessed during generation. Companies with limited online presence will produce less detailed reports.
- Estimates and inferences: Where precise data is unavailable, the AI may produce estimates or inferences. These should be treated as approximations, not verified figures.
- Bias: AI outputs may reflect biases present in the publicly available data the AI draws from, including selection bias, recency bias, or the biases of original sources.
- No competitive privileged information: Reports cannot access non-public pricing, internal strategy documents, unpublished financials, or other confidential business information about the companies analyzed.
4. What Reports Are Not
ReportLoom reports are not:
- Professional consulting advice
- Financial, investment, legal, tax, or medical advice
- Independently verified or fact-checked documents
- Suitable as the sole basis for any business decision
- Substitutes for professional due diligence
- Equivalent to work produced by a human analyst who independently verifies each claim
Reports are designed as a starting point for your own research — a structured framework to inform and accelerate your analysis, not to replace it.
5. Your Responsibility
By purchasing and using a ReportLoom report, you acknowledge and accept that:
- You are responsible for independently verifying any information in the report before relying on it for business decisions.
- You will not treat report content as warranted fact.
- You understand that AI-generated content may contain errors, and you accept the risk of relying on such content.
- You will not redistribute report content externally without acknowledging its AI-generated nature and limitations.
- Republication disclosure: if you publish, quote, or share report excerpts outside your organization — including in presentations, investor materials, blog posts, social media, or any public-facing context — you must clearly indicate that the content is AI-generated. This aligns with transparency obligations under the EU AI Act (Article 50) and comparable US regulatory guidance, and protects both you and the third parties described in the report. A short attribution such as "AI-generated competitive analysis produced by ReportLoom" is sufficient.
6. Third-Party AI Provider
ReportLoom uses Anthropic's Claude AI model via their commercial API to generate reports. Under Anthropic's commercial API terms, data sent through the API is not used to train their AI models. Anthropic may retain API inputs and outputs for a limited period for trust and safety monitoring. See Anthropic's privacy policy for details.
ReportLoom is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Anthropic. We are an independent company that uses their AI technology as a component of our service.
7. Quality Measures
While we cannot guarantee accuracy, we take the following steps to improve report quality:
- Structured prompts engineered to produce well-organized, relevant analysis
- Automated completeness checks before report delivery
- Use of AI web search capabilities to ground analysis in current public information
- Regular review of report output patterns to identify and address recurring quality issues
- A free retry mechanism for reports that fail during generation
These measures reduce — but do not eliminate — the risk of errors in report content.
8. Third-Party Companies Named in Reports
Reports may name and analyze third-party companies, their products, pricing, personnel, and market activities. All such analysis is based on publicly available information and represents the AI's synthesis and opinion — not warranted fact. Statements about third-party companies should not be interpreted as endorsements, criticisms, or factual representations by ReportLoom.
9. Reporting Errors or Concerns
If you discover factual errors or quality issues in a report — or if you are a representative of a company named in a report and have concerns about the content — please contact us via our contact page. We take all concerns seriously and will respond promptly.
Where a report you purchased contains a material factual error, we will correct or regenerate it at no charge under our Refund Policy. Outside that — for example a revision request that reflects a difference of interpretation rather than a factual error, or a concern raised about a report by someone who did not purchase it — we make reasonable efforts to address what is reported but do not guarantee revisions to an individual report.
10. Changes to This Disclosure
We may update this AI Disclosure page from time to time to reflect changes in our AI technology, quality measures, or applicable regulations. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates when this page was most recently revised.
